Leggett & Platt on Ocean Visibility Across Every Container

Ocean containers have to be tracked daily. Before Shipwell, that meant Tonya Swink's team logging into ten different carrier websites to piece together where each one was. As International Logistics Manager at Leggett & Platt, Tonya needed visibility that followed containers on the water, through transshipment points, and all the way to U.S. ports, not just at arrival. She got that, and something else: a platform that actually incorporated her feedback. Leggett & Platt helped drive the development of more than 15 international and ocean statuses now available in Shipwell. For Tonya, knowing her input shaped the product isn't just a nice detail — it's what defines the partnership.

[0:00] Ocean containers, you have to track them daily. And just having that visibility there so you don't have to go into ten different carrier websites, that saves so much time for our analysts.
[0:12] Shipwell has grown leaps and bounds in ocean. They relied heavily on input from us. We would say, "Hey, you need to give us statuses." I need an international status. I need an ocean status. I mean, we have over 15 of them now. We need real-time visibility of these containers, not just when they hit the ports in the U.S. We need to know when they're on the water, when they're at a transshipment point, where they're at.
[0:38] When you sign in and you see this information in there and you know that it's something that was driven from you, you get a sense of pride knowing that not only did you suggest that, but someone actually listened to you.
[0:51] To me, that's beneficial, knowing that I can go to Shipwell and they will listen to me. That means a lot to me.
