Shipwell Named to 2027 FreightWaves FreightTech 100 as Transportation Moves from Visibility to Action

Customers automate freight decisions, control cost, and cut manual work with Shipwell’s AI earning their spot on the 2027 FreightWaves FreightTech 100.

AUSTIN, TX – [September 24, 2026] – Shipwell, developers of the leading AI transportation platform, has been named to the 2027 FreightWaves FreightTech 100. Selected from hundreds of nominations by a panel of industry experts and FreightWaves editors, the award recognizes companies actively changing how freight moves. For Shipwell, that means building on a premise the freight industry has largely left unaddressed: visibility alone doesn't move freight, but taking action does.

Shipwell’s AI earned them a spot on the 2027 FreightWaves FreightTech 100 list.

Transportation technology has operated on the same model of data collection, creating alerts, and handing work back to logistics teams. Shipwell’s AI transportation platform is designed to close the gap between knowing what's happening in a freight operation and doing something about it, with AI that monitors, interprets, and executes on behalf of the teams running it.

"Most transportation technology was built to give freight teams better information," said Greg Price, CEO and Co-Founder of Shipwell. "We're building something different. A platform where AI doesn't just report what's happening, it handles it. The FreightTech 100 recognition reflects the work our team has put into making that real for customers, not just on a roadmap."

The approach is already changing day-to-day transportation operations. At Airlite Plastics, a team that previously spent four to five hours each day chasing carrier updates now spends about one, with Shipwell automating approximately 98% of shipment updates. Across the platform, 41% of Shipwell customers actively use AI in daily transportation operations, with some automating up to 80% of freight decisions, saving more than 750 hours annually, and avoiding over $500,000 in transportation costs.

That shift is happening alongside significant momentum for Shipwell. The company  posted 30% year-over-year revenue growth in 2025, while managed freight spend increased 107% and monthly shipment volume grew 55%. In 2026, the company earned a sixth consecutive placement in the Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Transportation Management Systems, was selected as Transport Management Platform of the Year by SupplyTech Breakthrough, and was named to the Inbound Logistics Top 100 Logistics and Supply Chain Technology Providers list. The 2027 FreightTech 100 is the latest recognition of that momentum.

The system of record had its era. The system of action is what comes next.
