EJ Group USA on Fewer Settlement Issues With Shipwell

EJ Group USA runs a high volume of LTL freight, and before Shipwell, settlement issues were a recurring drain. Resolution took one to three weeks by the time a third party identified the problem and a fix was implemented. Harold Brown, Logistics Systems Analyst, describes how moving to Shipwell changed that: fewer settlement issues, more accurate quotes, and a direct support relationship that resolves problems faster. Through Shipwell's carrier network, EJ Group also saw rate return speeds roughly four times faster than other carriers in the system — fast enough that users thought something was wrong.

[0:00] Now we're getting — I feel like the most accurate quotes we've ever had. Less issues on the settlement side. It's just starting to really flow smoothly.

[0:07] We do a lot of LTL, so we ran into a ton of issues. Usually took a week to two weeks before we got with the team, got with the third party, they identified the issue, and then maybe another week that it might be implemented. Where now, with it being direct, I have Mark and his team and then also the support team that can action things a lot quicker and find a solution.

[0:29] R+L was our first carrier in the beta. We could actually see how much quicker they came up. I actually had users asking me what's wrong with the system, because the R+L rates would return — we'd get four different rates for guaranteed, standard, whatever — and they were like, we're not getting the other rates from other carriers.

[0:46] So it is a significant difference, probably four times quicker than what the general rates did from the other carriers. Definitely a quicker process with the direct. Makes us excited that we chose a partnership with Shipwell.
